Does Clone Get Cast Abilities in MTG?
DislikingTramp路7 months agoNope, Clone just copies what's on the card as it sits on the battlefield. None of those fancy 'when you cast' abilities come along for the ride.

Clone doesn't copy the 'cast' abilities of a creature. It only copies the creature as it is on the battlefield. So, if the original creature had any abilities that trigger 'when you cast this creature,' those don't get copied because Clone wasn't cast as that creature. It just enters as a copy of it.
It's a common misunderstanding, but Clone Copies the creature's text box, color, type, etc., as it is on the field. Think of it like bringing an exact replica of a statue, not the process of sculpting it!
