Does the fight keyword target in MTG?
JokingTunic路7 months agoActually, fight does not target. It's a common misconception because it seems like you're picking creatures to fight each other. But since MTG is very particular about its wording, 'fight' doesn't target in the technical sense. So, shroud and hexproof won't save your creatures from a brawl!

lol, fight target? Nah, it just throws creatures into a gladiator ring to duke it out. No targeting lasers involved!
Nope, the fight mechanic in MTG doesn't target. When two creatures fight, it means they each deal damage equal to their power to the other. It's like they're having a mini-battle outside the usual combat phase, but since the fight mechanic doesn't use the word 'target,' it can bypass abilities that protect creatures from being targeted.
