Yes, your PlayStation needs to be on but it can be in Rest Mode. Make sure Remote Play is enabled in the settings!

Yep! Your console needs to be on or in Rest Mode. It won't work if it's completely off.

Your PlayStation has to be on or in Rest Mode for Remote Play to work. You can wake it from Rest Mode remotely if it's set up right.
