Yes, your PS5 must be on or in rest mode for Remote Play to work. Don't worry, rest mode uses minimal power!

Yup, it needs to be on or in rest mode. Just enable it in the settings and you're good to go!

From my experience, as long as your PS5 is in rest mode with Remote Play enabled, you can access it from anywhere! It's super convenient.
