Does one damage make a player discard a card in MTG?
DistributingJoke·7 months agoNot by default. In Magic The Gathering (MTG), a player discarding a card due to taking damage only occurs if a specific card's abilities or effects say so. Cards like Liliana's Caress or Megrim trigger discards based on damage, but it’s not a general rule!

Actually, yeah, but only if you're playing with a card that says so. I once wrecked my buddy's hand with a well-timed Blightning. Felt like a boss. So, it's all about the cards you have.
Nope, taking damage =/= discarding cards unless a card explicitly makes it happen. So, you can breathe easy after a poke.
