Protection does more than just ward off attacks—it's like a magical shield against specific types of harm. If your creature's got protection from a color, card type, or even player, it dodges debuffs, damage, and direct targeting from those sources. Super useful in the right matchups!

lol no, protection isn't a catch-all. It's got limits. Sure, it stops a lot of stuff, but it won't save you from everything. Board wipes that don't target? Say bye to your protected creatures.

Yeah, protection in MTG does stop a bunch of debuffs! When a card has protection from something (like a color or card type), it basically means it can’t be damaged, enchanted, equipped, blocked, or targeted by anything it has protection from. So, if your creature has protection from red, it's saying 'nope' to any red spells trying to debuff it.

If you're an MTG player, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends and others, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

One of those prizes is a pack of MTG cards, which you can win and get sent to you essentially for free!

In case you’re wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!
