Hot take: The Steam Deck's warmth is just its way of giving you a warm hug for being an awesome gamer. But really, all powerful handhelds heat up. It's normal.

In my experience, the Steam Deck does warm up but it's nothing to worry about. I've played for hours and, sure, it gets warm, but so does every gaming device. Just use it on a hard, flat surface and you're golden.

Yeah, the Steam Deck can get a bit toasty, especially during those marathon gaming sessions or when you're pushing it with more demanding games. It's packing some serious hardware in a portable format, so some heat is expected. Just make sure you're not blocking the vents and maybe take a break now and then to let it cool down a bit.

Honestly, it doesn't get as hot as people make it out to be. I've used mine for long periods and it's been totally fine. Cool your jets, folks.

If you're a Steam player, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends and others, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

One of those prizes is the official Steam gift card, which you can win and use to get anything you want essentially for free!

In case you鈥檙e wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!

The brands referenced on this page are not sponsors of the rewards or otherwise affiliated with this company.
