Nope, tapping an equipment card in Magic The Gathering doesn't do anything by itself. Equipment cards need to be attached to creatures to have any effect. Once equipped, the equipment stays on the creature and its abilities apply, but tapping the equipment doesn't add anything extra unless the card specifically says so. It's all about those equipped abilities!

Actually, tapping equipment can be part of an ability's cost or trigger some effects, but that's super rare. In almost all cases, tapping equipment on its own does zilch. Always read your cards!

Short answer: no. Tapping equipment itself doesn't do squat unless the card text specifically tells you it does something when tapped. Magic's all about the rules written on the cards.

If you're an MTG player, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends and others, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

One of those prizes is a pack of MTG cards, which you can win and get sent to you essentially for free!

In case you鈥檙e wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!
