A different take: Who needs a PS5 to charge its controller? Any USB-C port will do the trick.

Actually, you can charge it on any device that has a USB-C port. I've been using my PC to charge mine with no issues.

I always just plug mine into a USB-C wall adapter, and it works perfectly. No need to fuss with the PS5 unless you're actively gaming.
