Yup, pretty much every name in Magic The Gathering (MTG) is unique. The game's been around since 1993, so imagine the number of names they've had to come up with for cards, spells, creatures, you name it. But, here's the kicker: there are a few exceptions, especially when it comes to basic lands (Plains, Island, Swamp, Mountain, Forest) – those names get reused in almost every set.

Actually, not every name is unique. There are some reprints and variations, especially with basic lands and some iconic cards. So, while MTG does a stellar job at coming up with new names, don't be surprised if you see some repeats here and there.

Totally unique? Not exactly. While MTG strives for uniqueness, a few repeats slip through, especially with card reprints. It's part of what makes the game interesting, seeing how different sets reinterpret classic cards.
