How are flip cards printed in Magic The Gathering?
NickelingAlan路7 months agoFlip cards in MTG are super cool! They're printed with two card faces on a single card, one on each side. So, instead of a traditional Magic card back, flip cards have another card face where the back would normally be. This allows them to have two different states or modes that can be used during gameplay. They make games more interesting with their dual functionality!

Just to be that guy, but technically, they're not flip cards; they're 'double-faced cards' or 'transform cards.' Flip cards are from the Kamigawa block and actually flip upside-down, but double-faced cards from sets like Innistrad have the two faces you鈥檙e probably talking about. They get printed with one face on each side of the card. No regular card back!
Honestly, they're a printing nightmare but a player's dream! Imagine printing a card, then flipping it over and doing it all again on the back. That's how Wizards of the Coast does the magic for MTG flip cards. Each side offers unique abilities, making them a favorite among players for the strategic depth they add.
