Try using browser extensions like AdBlock Plus. It won't stop all ads, but it sure helps a lot.
You can't totally stop them, but you can use ad blockers or adjust your ad preferences for less annoying ads.
Hot take: Facebook ads aren't that bad. Just scroll past them like you do with everything else you don't care about.
