How can you tell if a Pokemon card is fake?

Easy peasy. Check the card's texture first - real Pokemon cards have a bit of a sheen and a specific smooth feel. If it's too glossy or too matte, be suspicious. Next, the color: fakes often have dull or off colors compared to the real deal. Don't forget the edges - genuine cards have clean, sharp cuts. Also, real cards have a thin layer of black between the cardstock; try looking at the side of the card. Lastly, the font is a dead giveaway. If the text looks odd or is hard to read, you might be holding a fake.

Just weigh 'em! Real cards have a consistent weight. If it feels too light or heavy, something's probably off.

I've come across plenty of fakes and honestly, most of them just feel wrong. Trust your gut. If it looks sketchy, it probably is.

If you're a Pokemon TCG player, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends and others, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

One of those prizes is a pack of Pokemon cards, which you can win and get sent to you essentially for free!

In case you鈥檙e wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!
