How can you tell if Pokemon cards are fake?

Spotting fake Pokemon cards is an art, really. Look at the coloring; fakes often have colors that are either too dull or too bright. Hold the card up to the light and check for a thin black layer in the middle of the card - legit cards have this. Also, the texture on holographic cards should feel a bit raised. If it's flat, question it. Another giveaway is the card's edges; real cards have a clean and consistent cut. And don't overlook the card text and font, which should be crisp and match official cards exactly. Spelling errors are a dead giveaway!

Real talk: just weigh them. Fake cards sometimes weigh less than the real deal. Not the most scientific method, but it's quick and easy.

Font's all you need to look at, honestly. If the text looks funny or it's hard to read, it's probably a fake. Caught a couple of fakes that way myself.

If you're a Pokemon TCG player, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends and others, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

One of those prizes is a pack of Pokemon cards, which you can win and get sent to you essentially for free!

In case you鈥檙e wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!
