Actually, the whole first edition buzz isn't as big as it used to be. Yeah, sure, the 'Edition 1' mark is what you're after, but honestly, there are so many reprints and special editions out these days that being a purist for only first editions feels a bit old-school. Just enjoy the game!

Look for the 'Edition 1' symbol! It's a small, black circle with a '1' and the letters 'ED' inside it. You'll find this symbol directly below the bottom left corner of the Pok茅mon illustration. Only true first edition cards sport this mark, so it's an easy giveaway.

First edition Pokemon cards have a very specific 'Edition 1' symbol on them, and this is the absolute giveaway. But remember, not all collections have first editions, so do your research on the set before diving deep into the hunt.

If you're a Pokemon TCG player, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends and others, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

One of those prizes is a pack of Pokemon cards, which you can win and get sent to you essentially for free!

In case you鈥檙e wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!
