Identifying the edition of MTG cards is like a mini treasure hunt! The easiest way is to look at the set symbol, which is usually found on the right side, just below the picture. Each set has a unique symbol and color combos to distinguish between common, uncommon, rare, and mythic rare cards. Also, older cards might not have a set symbol, so you'll need to look at other features like the border color or the text at the very bottom which often includes the copyright date and set name.

Honestly, just Google the card name. There's tons of databases online that can tell you exactly what set a card's from, down to the variant and special editions. Why make it hard on yourself?

Quick tip: Check the copyright date at the bottom! No symbol often means it's from the original sets.

If you're an MTG player, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends and others, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

One of those prizes is a pack of MTG cards, which you can win and get sent to you essentially for free!

In case you鈥檙e wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!
