You can鈥檛 turn off comments on regular posts, but you can restrict who can comment under your privacy settings.
Just go to the post, click on the three dots in the top right corner, and select 'Turn off commenting.' Works like a charm!
From experience, I've found the best way is to change the post's privacy settings or use a Facebook Page where you can control the comments!
