How did damage stack in 1994 MTG?
RollingHank路7 months agoDamage stacking? In '94? It was simpler times, my friend. Creatures smacked each other and the last one standing won!

Oh, old school MTG rules nostalgia! Back in 1994, damage didn't quite 'stack' the way we think of stacking in the modern game. Essentially, when creatures battled, you'd assign their damage simultaneously. If a creature was big enough to survive the damage from its opponent, it lived; otherwise, poof, graveyard time. There were no in-between steps where you could sneak in spells or abilities while damage was on its way to settling. It was all about those beefy creatures and direct damage spells.
Actually, damage didn't 'stack' like it did later on. In '94, combat damage happened all at once, no chance to respond after damage was assigned. Makes you appreciate how the game has evolved!
