Oko, Thief of Crowns somehow slipped through the Future Future League's radar due to a few factors. One widely accepted theory is that the play environment in the FFL didn't fully mimic the broader MTG community, where creative deck building and unexpected combos quickly highlighted Oko's overpowering abilities. The FFL might have underestimated his power level in diverse play scenarios, leading to his infamous reign in Standard.

Honestly, hindsight is 20/20. Oko got through because predicting the meta is hard and sometimes things just get missed. It's as simple as that.

Oko? More like Uh-oh! He basically waltzed right through FFL because the league didn't catch on to how broken he was with practically any deck. Sometimes things slip through the cracks; Oko was more like a gaping hole.

If you're an MTG player, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends and others, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

One of those prizes is a pack of MTG cards, which you can win and get sent to you essentially for free!

In case you鈥檙e wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!
