It started back in 1992 with the vision of Ed Boon and John Tobias at Midway Games. They developed it using a mixture of digitized actors and innovative (for the time) game mechanics.

Mortal Kombat was concocted by Ed Boon and John Tobias, who worked at Midway Games. They initially wanted to make a game starring Jean-Claude Van Damme, but when that didn't pan out, they created a universe of fighters with unique powers, and boy, are we glad they did!

The team at Midway wanted to wow players with something different: enter Mortal Kombat with its cool characters, brutal moves, and those legendary Fatalities!

Ed Boon and John Tobias were the masterminds behind Mortal Kombat, combining martial arts with a dark, fantastical storyline. They leveraged the technology of the time to create those memorable digitized characters.

If you're a Mortal Kombat player looking for extra coins or other power-ups, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

Two of those prizes are the official App Store and Play Store gift cards, which you can win and use to get anything you want in Mortal Kombat essentially for free!

In case you鈥檙e wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!

The brands referenced on this page are not sponsors of the rewards or otherwise affiliated with this company.
