Basically, you get Ability Chunks by scrubbing gear and through Salmon Run rewards. Save up those chunks and use them to reroll or add specific abilities to your favorite gear at Murch. It's how you turn your favorite hat into a stat-boosting powerhouse!

Ability Chunks in Splatoon 2 let you customize your gear with specific abilities. Just keep scrubbing slots off your gear with Murch until you've got enough chunks, then go to him to add the abilities you want. It's a grind, but well worth it to fine-tune your gear for those ink-splatting battles!

Honestly, just keep scrubbing Splatfest tees for cheap chunks. It's that simple.

First-hand tip: Grind Salmon Run and scrubbing for Ability Chunks! I've customized my gear to perfection doing just that. Pro-tip: Always wear Splatfest tees for cheap scrubbing!
