To cancel your Spotify subscription, just log in to your account on a web browser, go to 'Account Overview', click on 'Your Plan', and hit 'Change Plan'. Scroll down and select 'Cancel Premium' under Spotify Free. You'll still be able to listen free with ads.

I canceled mine last month. Just remember, you have to do it through a web browser, not the app. Just go to the 'Account' page, follow 'Change Plan', and cancel.
Just hit 'Cancel' in account settings. Easy peasy.
