Honestly, the best way is to turtle up and defend what you already have. Expanding too fast can overextend you.
Just conquer EVERYTHING. More territories mean more amber. Plus, it's fun to watch the world burn. ;)

Capture and hold as many settlements in the Forest of Athel Loren as you can. Amber comes from settlements, so more settlements = more amber!
