Early in the game, you'll unlock the vaulting pole which lets you leap over rivers like an Olympian in pajamas. Just equip it, run up to the river, and press A to vault over. Later, you'll get the ability to construct bridges, making crossing rivers a walk in the park - literally.
No need to swim! Use a vaulting pole for that early game, rustic feel or build bridges for a touch of civilization.
Not a fan of the vaulting pole. It's all about bridges for me - they add so much to the aesthetic of the island.
Bridges are where it's at. Save up those Bells and invest in infrastructure. Your future self, tired of pole vaulting, will thank you.
