From my own experience, use a browser to access Instagram's 'Delete Your Account' page, select your reason, and confirm. Took me 2 minutes.
You gotta visit Instagram's special account deletion page (not the app), select why you're leaving, and click the red button. Done.
Go to the 'Delete Your Account' page on Instagram鈥檚 website, choose a reason for deleting, and click 'Permanently delete my account'.
