Go to the friends tab (the one with the people icon), and your username should be right there at the top of the screen.

Open the game and tap on the cog icon in the top-left corner to open settings. Your username will be displayed at the top!

Just tap your profile picture in the top-left corner while in the game. Your username will be displayed alongside your player ID. Only took me a week to find it!
