The easiest step? Just compare it with another card you know is 100% legit. If something feels off, it probably is.

First off, check the card texture. Real Pokemon cards have a distinct, smooth feel and a bit of a sheen. Fakes often feel flimsy or overly glossy. Next, look at the card's edges; real cards have clean, even cuts. Also, genuine cards have clear, sharp printing - so if the text or images look blurry or smudged, that's a red flag. Don't forget the light test: Hold the card up to a light source. If it鈥檚 real, you should see a bit of light through the card, but not as if it鈥檚 transparent. Lastly, compare it with another card you know is real for anything that seems off.

Look at the card's border; if it鈥檚 off-center or the colors look wrong, it's likely fake. Real cards have consistent, vibrant colors.

If you're a Pokemon TCG player, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends and others, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

One of those prizes is a pack of Pokemon cards, which you can win and get sent to you essentially for free!

In case you鈥檙e wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!

The brands referenced on this page are not sponsors of the rewards or otherwise affiliated with this company.
