Just write the card's name and key details on a slip of paper and tuck it into a sleeve with a basic land card. Low-tech, but it gets the job done for playtesting or casual kitchen-table games.

Got a bit artsy in me, so I hand-draw my proxies on blank cards. It's super fun, gives the deck a personal touch, and my playgroup loves the uniqueness. Plus, it's a conversation starter!

Using proxies ruins the spirit of MTG. Save up and buy the real cards. It鈥檚 more satisfying and respects the game and its community.

The easiest way to make MTG proxies is by finding images of the cards you want to proxy online, printing them out on paper, and then cutting them to size. Slip these paper proxies into sleeves with a real Magic card behind for stiffness. This way, you maintain the feel of a real deck without the cost of expensive cards. Remember, proxies are great for casual play with friends but won't fly in official tournaments!

If you're an MTG player, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends and others, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

One of those prizes is a pack of MTG cards, which you can win and get sent to you essentially for free!

In case you鈥檙e wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!
