PS3's a bit picky sometimes. If it doesn't autoplay, restart the console with the DVD already inside.

I’ve done this a million times. Just insert the DVD, navigate to 'Video' on the home screen, and select the disc. Voila!

Select Video on the XMB (cross-media bar) once you insert the DVD. The rest is Netflix-level easy!
