Easy peasy! Just click on the Messenger icon in the top right corner of Facebook, select 'New Message,' type the person's name, and bam鈥攕tart chatting!

I've been using Facebook for years. Simply click the little speech bubble icon in the header, then click 'New Message,' and search for your friend鈥檚 name. Happy chatting!
