Setting up a Pokemon TCG game is super easy and a ton of fun! First, each player needs a deck of 60 Pokemon cards. You can mix different types of cards (Pokemon, Trainer, and Energy cards) but make sure you have a good balance. Start by placing your deck to the side and draw 7 cards to form your hand. Look for a Basic Pokemon in your hand and place it face down as your Active Pokemon; you can also place up to 5 Basic Pokemon on your Bench. Flip a coin to see who goes first, and you're ready to start the battle! Don't forget to decide on the win condition, typically the first player to take all their Prize cards.

Just grab a deck and some friends! Seriously, all you need is a 60-card Pokemon deck each. Make sure there's a mix of Pokemon, Energy, and Trainer cards. Draw 7 cards to start, put a Basic Pokemon in the 'Active' spot, and up to 5 more on the 'Bench.' Flip a coin to see who kicks off the game. First player to snag all their Prize cards wins. Easy peasy!

If you're a Pokemon TCG player, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends and others, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

One of those prizes is a pack of Pokemon cards, which you can win and get sent to you essentially for free!

In case you’re wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!
