MTG sets are basically the different 'editions' or 'expansions' that come out throughout the year, each bringing new cards and sometimes new mechanics to the game. There's a variety of types including Standard sets, which are the backbone of the competitive scene, and special sets like Commander or Masters, aimed at more casual or specific formats. The game cycles through different sets in the Standard format, making it ever-evolving and fresh!

Sets in MTG are released in 'blocks' which have now been mostly phased out for a more flexible release schedule. This means we get a mix of thematic expansions and core sets without strict adherence to the block format. Keeps things spicy!

Too complicated now. Just miss the old days when sets were simple and you knew what you were getting.

I've been collecting since the '90s, and the variety in sets nowadays is actually amazing. You get themed sets that transport you to whole new worlds, and the art? *Chef's kiss*. Plus, the storylines that unfold through these sets add so much depth to the game. It's never been a better time to dive into MTG.

If you're an MTG player, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends and others, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

One of those prizes is a pack of MTG cards, which you can win and get sent to you essentially for free!

In case you鈥檙e wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!
