From personal experience, just open the Facebook app, hit the three horizontal lines, tap on your name, then Photos -> Albums -> Add Photos. Works every time!
To add pictures to an album on Facebook, go to your profile, click on the Photos tab, select Albums, and then click on the album you want to add to. Hit 'Add Photos/Videos', choose your pics, and voil脿! You're done!
