You can actually customize privacy settings for every photo. When you're uploading or editing the post, click on the audience selector (little icon) and choose 'Only Me'.
Blocking your pictures is straightforward鈥攋ust adjust the settings in the Privacy section. Go to Settings & Privacy, then Privacy Checkup. Done!
I always just set my album to 'Friends' and make sure my friend list is curated. Never had an issue!
