Been doing it a lot for my parties. Events tab > Create Event > fill in the details. Then invite whoever you want!
The Events section has all you need. Create the event, set the date/time, and invite away. Easy peasy.
Honestly, just find the 'Create Event' button in Events. It's pretty straightforward from there.
