You can deactivate it or delete it. For deactivation, go to 'Edit Profile' > 'Temporarily disable my account.' For deletion, use the 'Delete Your Account' page.
Had to erase mine once. Head to the 'Delete Your Account' page on a web browser, not the app, and follow the steps. Smooth sailing!
