Sometimes simply resetting the controller by holding down the sync button and the Xbox button for 10 seconds can fix things. If not, consider taking it apart (if you're comfortable) and checking for loose connections. A can of compressed air works great for clearing out dust too!

First, check the batteries or recharge the controller if it's wireless. If the problem persists, try reconnecting it to your Xbox or updating the firmware through the Xbox Accessories app. For sticky buttons, a cleaning with isopropyl alcohol usually does wonders.

Get new batteries, or if the controller is wired, try a different cable. Worked for me!

Honestly, if it's really broken, just buy a new one. Not worth the hassle.

If you're a Xbox player, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends and others, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

One of those prizes is the official Xbox gift card, which you can win and use to get anything you want essentially for free!

In case you鈥檙e wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!

The brands referenced on this page are not sponsors of the rewards or otherwise affiliated with this company.
