I got my Pikachu by selecting it as my starter Pokémon during the initial setup. Just walk away from the original three starters for a bit, and Pikachu will pop up!
Evolving a Pichu, which hatches from 5km eggs, into Pikachu is another way. But, hey, why go through all that when you can catch one directly during special events?
Honestly, just walk a lot. Pikachu isn’t that rare – you’ll bump into one eventually.
