How do you get to Spectacle Island in Fallout 4?
Actually, if swimming ain't your style, you can mod your way into a boat. There are a couple of mods that add boats or allow you to build your own water vehicles. Not exactly the vanilla experience, but hey, it beats getting your toes nibbled on by mirelurks.

Swim! Seriously, just find the shortest distance between the mainland and the island, then swim across. It's that simple. But, you know, beware of radiation and anything that might want to snack on you.
So, you wanna set foot on Spectacle Island, huh? It’s a bit of a swim. Head to the southeast corner of the map. Look for the part where the land kinda juts out into the water, then take a deep breath and start swimming. Just watch out for any nasty critters in the water. Once you get there, you’ll find a switch in a green boat on the shore to turn off the mirelurks’ sonic emitter. Welcome to your new island!
Just swim. It’s not that deep, literally.
