If you have a CD, pop it into the PS3. Go to the Music section, find the CD, press triangle, and select 'Import CD'. Your PS3 will rip the music from the CD.

Easy peasy! Plug a USB flash drive with your music into your PS3. Once plugged, navigate to the Music tab, find your USB, press triangle, and select 'Copy'. Boom, your music's on your PS3!

I've done it a bunch of times: just put your music files on a USB drive, plug it into the PS3, and copy them over through the menu.
