How Do You Shut Down Facebook Account?
My sister shut down her account last year. She went to 'Settings', then 'Your Facebook Information', followed by 'Deactivation and Deletion'. She chose 'Delete Account' and completed the process without any issues. She never looked back!

You just need to navigate to Settings, find 'Your Facebook Information', then 'Deactivation and Deletion', and finally hit 'Delete Account'. Follow the directions from there.
