Disassemble a PS3 by removing the screws on the bottom, then carefully sliding off the top casing. Lots of screws and parts to keep track of, so maybe take photos along the way!

Just get the right screwdrivers (Phillips and Torx T10), remove the top cover, unscrew everything, and carefully disconnect the cables. Not too hard if you go step-by-step!

Look up a YouTube tutorial. It's easier when you can see what you're doing!

You'll need a small Phillips head screwdriver, a flathead screwdriver, and a Torx T10 screwdriver. First, remove the rubber foot underneath the sticker on the side and unscrew the Torx screw. Slide the top cover off, then remove all the screws from the body of the console. Carefully unplug the cables connected to the motherboard, and you'll be able to take the parts out one by one. Make sure to remember or label where each part goes!

Honestly, it's a bit of a hassle. Unless you're super confident, maybe leave it to a pro.

If you're a PlayStation player, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends and others, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

One of those prizes is the official PlayStation gift card, which you can win and use to get anything you want essentially for free!

In case you鈥檙e wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!

The brands referenced on this page are not sponsors of the rewards or otherwise affiliated with this company.
