You don't have to "take out" Toriel! Keep using Spare and eventually she'll let you pass. Trust me, it's way more satisfying! ;)

Just attack her repeatedly. It's straightforward. But maybe consider sparing her for a more wholesome experience.

To defeat Toriel, keep attacking her until her HP drops low enough. But remember, you can also spare her! Just keep selecting Spare in the Act menu until she lets you go.

I went full pacifist mode. Just keep sparing her, and after a few rounds, she’ll let you go. No need to fight!
