To trade Pokémon in Pokémon GO, you need to be friends with the person you want to trade with. Once you're friends, meet up with them in real life (within 100 meters), open the Friends tab, select their profile, and hit 'Trade'! Simple as that.

Make sure both players have enough Stardust and the Pokémon you're trading aren't currently favorited or involved in a battle. Then, open the Friends tab, choose your friend, tap 'Trade', select the Pokémon, and confirm the trade. Done and done!
