Ads are part of the Facebook experience, but you can reduce how targeted they are. Just head to your Ad Settings and limit the info advertisers can use.
Honestly, just use an ad blocker. Problem solved.
I adjusted my Ad Preferences and saw fewer ads that annoy me. It's under Settings > Ads > Your Ad Preferences.
