Basically, you play 5 placement matches to get an initial rank starting from Bronze to Grandmaster. Your performance in each match affects your Skill Rating (SR). Win more, get higher, lose more, drop lower!

In Overwatch, you have to play placement matches, earn a rank, and then win matches to increase your Skill Rating (SR). It's a grind, but totally worth it when you hit that new tier!

Overwatch's ranking system is based on Skill Rating (SR) which you earn or lose after each competitive match. You start by playing placement matches, which determine your initial SR. The better you play and win, the higher your SR climbs!

Placement matches help to find your initial rank. After that, it's all about gaining SR via wins and performance. Pro tip: Avoiding tilt is key to climbing!

You start with placement matches, and then you get placed into a tier. Keep winning to climb up the ranks, but lose too much, and you might drop. It's that simple!
