Modern MTG can be quite the investment depending on how competitive you wanna be. If you're just playing casually with friends, you could probably get by with a few hundred bucks. But if you're looking to compete at higher levels, some decks can run you upwards of $1,000 or more. It varies a lot based on the cards you need.

Honestly, it's as expensive as you make it. There are budget decks out there that can still hold their own, especially if you're not trying to win every Pro Tour. You could start with a couple hundred dollars and see where the game takes you.

Too much if you ask me. You're better off playing draft or sealed if you want to keep costs down and still enjoy the game.

From my experience, starting a modern MTG deck from scratch can indeed be pricey, but consider it an investment. Some of my cards have appreciated in value over time! Plus, the thrill of building and optimizing your deck can't be beaten.

If you're an MTG player, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends and others, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

One of those prizes is a pack of MTG cards, which you can win and get sent to you essentially for free!

In case you鈥檙e wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!
