How Does Extort Work in MTG?

Extort is a wickedly fun mechanic in MTG! When you have a card with Extort on the battlefield, you can pay an extra white or black mana (depending on the card's color identity) whenever you cast a spell. Then, each opponent loses 1 life, and you gain that much life. It's like throwing a tiny, evil party where you're siphoning everyone's energy to fuel your own dark victory!

Extort lets you pay an additional \\(W/B) (that means either a white or a black mana) whenever you cast another spell. If you do, each opponent loses 1 life and you gain that much life. It's a great way to slowly drain your opponents while giving yourself a little boost!

TBH, I've always found extort kinda meh. Costs extra mana for what? A slow life drain? Please, there are faster ways to win.

It's simple: extort = pay extra when casting, opponents lose life, you gain life. Efficient and brutal!

If you're an MTG player, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends and others, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

One of those prizes is a pack of MTG cards, which you can win and get sent to you essentially for free!

In case you鈥檙e wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!

The brands referenced on this page are not sponsors of the rewards or otherwise affiliated with this company.
