I've read the manga and watched the anime, and I'd say the anime does a great job capturing the essence of the manga. It stays true to the original humor and action-packed scenes.
Tbh, the anime does a good job, but there are a few differences. If you're a purist, read the manga!
As someone who's been following both the anime and manga, I can tell you the anime follows the manga very closely, especially in the first season. A few filler scenes here and there, but nothing major.
