Just swim about 1 km from your starting point, and avoid becoming Reaper Leviathan snacks.

The two main islands in Subnautica, the Floating Island and the Mountain Island, are both roughly 1,000 meters from the center of the map鈥攇ive or take a scary sea creature or two!

Speaking from experience, the Floating Island is a bit closer to the southwest, while the Mountain Island sits northeast, a bit farther but worth the trip. Keep an eye on your compass!

If you're looking for the Floating Island, it's about 1,200 meters southwest of the starting area. The Mountain Island, on the other hand, is around 1,000 meters northeast. Happy exploring!
